*Samuel’s earliest memories are filled with fear and loneliness. As a toddler, he was abandoned in the forest, left to fend for himself. Insects burrowed into his skin, causing painful sores. By day, he had no shelter from the scorching sun, and by night, he was exposed to torrential rain and the terrifying sounds of wild animals. There was no one to hold him, no one to protect him, and no one to comfort him in his darkest hours.

Thanks to the incredible kindness of people like you, Samuel was eventually found and brought to safety. He received immediate medical care and a safe place to rest, beginning the long journey of recovery from his traumatic ordeal. At one point, Samuel faced the grim possibility of further nights on the streets or incarceration with adult males in conflict with the law.

But for Samuel, safety alone wasn’t enough—what he longed for most was a family to call his own. He dreamed of a place where he would be loved unconditionally, a home where he would never have to feel abandoned or alone again.

Finding the right family for Samuel was a challenge that required perseverance and dedication. Our team at SAFE INTERNATIONAL worked tirelessly, conducting thorough searches, interviews, and assessments to ensure that Samuel would be placed in a nurturing and supportive environment. We were committed to finding the perfect family who could understand his needs, embrace his past, and provide the love and stability he so desperately desired.

After a lengthy period of working through countless assessments, forms, home visits, and a stream of interventions, adoption was unanimously deemed in Samuel's best interest. SAFE INTERNATIONAL found a loving family that welcomed Samuel with open hearts. His new parents were overjoyed to meet him, and Samuel’s eyes lit up with joy when he realised he was finally home. He now has a place where he feels secure, cherished, and hopeful about the future. Samuel is thriving in his new family, surrounded by the warmth and care he always dreamed of.

Our team built an incredible rapport with Samuel and provided the best care possible within our temporary shelter. However, there truly is nothing like family. Our Social Workers continue to visit and provide aftercare to support Samuel's transition out of care. He is missed, but we applaud the efforts of everyone who worked hard to ensure that Samuel has a safe family where he can grow, develop, and thrive.
